Greg West, Conference Superintendent and Evangelist with the Global Methodist Church in Virginia, shares how churches across the conference are taking ministry beyond Sunday morning.

From serving nearly 100 people each week through St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Hampton, to prayer stations in inner-city Richmond, Virginia Methodists are going directly to the people. Greg also discusses welcoming Washington, D.C., into the conference, prayer walks for revival, plans to plant a church in the nation’s capital, and Virginia’s mission partnership with the Central African Republic.

“You don’t need the right credentials, permission, or a title. Go make disciples of all nations.”

While at the Beauty of Holiness Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, Jason Nix sits down with Rev. Keith Boyette for an update on retirement and what he calls “redeployment.” Keith reflects on how God used him to help launch the Global Methodist Church and how he recognized when it was time to lay that responsibility down.

Keith shares how age, health, and the denomination’s transition into a new season shaped his decision. He discusses the difference between helping establish a movement and leading its ongoing operations, the importance of making room for new leaders, and the challenges that arise when former leaders struggle to release control.

Together, Jason and Keith explore how God continues to work through people beyond what they imagined and why stepping aside can open the door to new opportunities to serve. At the heart of the conversation is a reminder that Christ died for people, not institutions, and that the church’s mission must keep people at its center.

The conference concluded with history in the making: a sacred service of prayer and consecration for the Global Methodist Church’s first full-time Assembly of Bishops.

After countless conversations, and many podcast interviews, Jason leaves the Church with this encouragement:

The Connectional Council reported on its work over the past two years, while delegates were introduced to the Global Methodist Church’s draft liturgies and strategic framework.

Bishop Mark Webb delivered one of the day’s most powerful challenges: “If your church isn’t willing to MULTIPLY disciples and MULTIPLY churches, the Global Methodist Church probably isn’t for you.”

At the end of the episode, Tesia Mallory, chair of the Liturgical Task Force, and Jessica LaGrone, chair of the Connectional Council, join the conversation for a closer look at the draft liturgies and strategic framework.

With committee work continuing, more reports and results are expected tomorrow.

We sat down with some of the people behind the General Conference Worship Team, featuring musicians, choirs, and orchestras from around the world. Arnold Arreaga, bassist from Texas; Tracy Winters, co-chair from South Dakota; Stephen Goldsmith, keyboardist from Texas; and David Layser, acoustic guitarist, worship leader, and team chaplain from Delaware, share the challenges of leading worship across cultures and the heart posture this calling requires.

Together, they reflect on preparing spiritually amid the pressures of General Conference and how God is using the Global Methodist Church to usher in something new within local churches around the world.

“When it gets to crunch time, it’s hard to prepare the heart. Set aside time before the crunch.” — David Layser

Jason Nix sits down with Rev. Kabah Kasongo Mwenze, a clergy leader from the Democratic Republic of Congo, for a powerful conversation about the rapid growth of the Global Methodist Church across Africa.

Kabah shares his story of ministry in the DRC, where he serves the local church and assists episcopal leadership while also serving as a member of the Global Methodist Church’s Kingdom Advancement Commission. He describes the remarkable faith of congregations that left their previous denomination and began again with very little, gathering as new churches in homes, schools, and even under trees.

Without many of the buildings, equipment, and resources churches elsewhere may take for granted, these communities continue to worship, make disciples, plant churches, and experience tremendous growth. Kabah shares how he has witnessed God’s love and mercy through it all and what the growing Methodist movement in Africa can teach the global church about faith, sacrifice, and dependence on God.

It’s an encouraging picture of a church growing rapidly and serving God faithfully, even without the materials and resources many consider essential.

Are we losing our grip on orthodox beliefs? The upcoming Articles of Faith conversation might just change everything.

With the Articles of Faith heading to General Conference this September, the conversation is just getting started. This is a defining moment for the future of our church.
