C. Matt Seimears, Ph.D., a first-generation college student, entered the workforce after graduating high school as a MIG/TIG Welder, building and welding dust control equipment to keep milling operations clean. He attended Butler Community College, later transferring to Pittsburg State University, earning a Bachelor's Degree. He taught inner-city second and third-grade ESOL students, eighth-grade ESOL Science, and rural ninth-grade and coached high school wrestling for fourteen years.

He earned his Master's Degree from Wichita State University, a Bachelor's Degree from Newman University, a Ph.D. from Kansas State University, and taught as an adjunct at Cowley Community College for six years.

Prior to becoming the President of Lower Columbia College in Longview, WA, he worked at Emporia State University (2004-2019) as an Instructor/Academic Advisor, Professor, Associate Department Chair, and Department Chair. He became the Dean of the College of Education at Eastern Oregon University (EOU) in 2019 and was named Interim Provost at EOU in 2022.

Danielle V. Dennis is the Dean of the University of Rhode Island Feinstein College of Education and Professor of Literacy Teacher Education and Policy. Dr. Marcy Brown Marsden

On January 1, 2024 Dr. Brown Marsden became Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at MSU. She served as dean of the McCoy College of Science, Mathematics, and Engineering at Midwestern State University from 2015 to 2022, and was interim provost at MSU from December 2022 through December 2023. Dr. Brown Marsden holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Purdue University, MBA from Texas A&M Commerce, and Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell. She is a board member of the American Conference of Academic Deans. Prior to MSU, Dr. Brown Marsden was Biology faculty member, Biology Department chair, and associate dean at the University of Dallas. Her interests lie at the interface between science and society. Dr. Brown Marsden conducted research projects in Alaska, Alcatraz Island, and Costa Rica and currently studies the rare orchid Hexalectris in Texas. He is the author an editor of several books, including Invisible Enemies: The American War on Vietnam, 1975-2000 (2007), Agent Orange: History, Science, and the Politics of Uncertainty (2012), and At War: The Military and American Culture in the Twentieth Century and Beyond (2018, with David Kieran). Martini also serves as co-editor of the University of Massachusetts Press book series, “Culture and Politics in the Cold War and Beyond.”

Carolyn Mattiske serves as the Director of the State University of New York’s (SUNY) Academic & Innovative Leadership (SAIL) Institute and Organizational Development for SUNY System Administration. The SAIL Institute supports higher education professionals at SUNY and beyond, including both experienced and aspiring leaders, through a broad portfolio of programming and services. Carolyn holds a master’s degree in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technologies, is an organizational learning strategist recognized for award-winning leadership programs and is a certified trainer for DiSC and Crucial Conversations. With over 15 years of experience designing, delivering and managing adult learning and leadership programs, Carolyn leads operations for the SAIL Institute.
