Abbi is the Conservation Engagement Manager at ZooMontana, located in Billings, MT. ZooMontana has always prioritized conservation as a central pillar of its mission and is proud to finally have the capacity for a team member dedicated solely to conservation starting last summer (2025). Abbi is excited to help the Zoo and its guests learn about and engage with conservation both local and international through educational programming, events, and community science initiatives.

Zoo Montana is not just a zoo; it’s a sanctuary for animals and a hub for education on conservation. Located in Billings, Montana, the zoo features a variety of species from the 45th parallel, emphasizing animals that thrive in the region’s climate. Many of the animals at Zoo Montana have been rescued and are unable to return to the wild, making the zoo an essential part of their conservation journey.

One of the exciting upcoming events at Zoo Montana is the Party for the Planet, which celebrates Earth Day. This event will showcase various local conservation organizations and engage the community with hands-on activities. This event is an excellent opportunity for visitors to learn about sustainability and connect with like-minded individuals.

Scheduled for April 18th, the Party for the Planet will feature food trucks, activities for all ages, and informational booths from local conservation organizations. Visitors can bring in old electronics for recycling and enjoy fun demonstrations, such as a bear spray safety practice. The event aims to raise awareness about conservation while providing a fun and interactive experience.
