Sometimes an old friend walks back into your life at exactly the right time—and you realize God had the whole thing lined up before either one of you knew what was happening.

In this episode of the Unrestricted Podcast, I sit down with my longtime friend Coach Bob Horne, better known on YouTube as Coach Bob Three. We go back about 40 years to our rock-and-roll days, when we had fewer lines on our faces and probably more hair on our heads.

Bob shares how “Bobby Three” became Coach Bob Three, how a serious career with the Federal Aviation Administration led to coaching young athletes, and why he believes coaching is what God created him to do.

Then we get into the remarkable story of how God brought us back together after more than 30 years. I had prayed for God to send people who could help me grow this podcast. At the same time, Bob was walking through grief, praying for direction, and repeatedly feeling my name placed on his heart. The next Sunday, he walked into church—and there I was, sitting two rows in front of him.

Coincidence? We don’t think so.

We also talk about the real purpose of the Unrestricted Podcast: sharing how faith carried me through cancer treatment and recovery, and reminding people that whatever they are facing, there is an answer—and His name is Jesus.

There’s plenty of laughter, a little rock-and-roll history, some Can-Am talk, and the story behind a phrase I’ve been repeating for decades: “What’s for lunch? A Sam 'itch.”
