I've been editing since 2000. Reel-to-reel. Final Cut. Avid. Premiere. Every time the tools changed, the muscle memory had to get rebuilt. AI is just the newest version of that same shift — and the editors struggling with it aren't struggling because AI is hard. They're struggling because they haven't had to retrain their brain in a while.

In this episode I walk through my actual hybrid workflow: where I let AI do the heavy lifting, where I take back control, and why the order of those two things matters more than most people realize.

We also cover text-based editing, what it is, why it changes the rough cut process completely, and which tools are worth your time depending on where you are in your editing journey.
