In the debut episode of Fade2Blaq, host Notorious Blaq explores the power of narrative and how Black Americans have been portrayed through news media, politics, entertainment, and social media.

From the tendency to highlight negative stories while overlooking accomplishments and context to the continuing struggle for Black Americans to define and preserve their own history, Blaq asks a fundamental question: Who controls the narrative?

But the conversation doesn't stop with outside forces. Blaq turns the mirror inward, challenging the Black community to consider personal accountability, the examples adults set for younger generations, the influence of social media, and the importance of education, mentorship, family, and knowing our history.

He also examines the complicated relationship between progress and perception. Black Americans have achieved extraordinary success across business, government, medicine, education, science, entrepreneurship, and countless other fields—yet questions surrounding equality, opportunity, representation, and access remain.
