The BIGGEST Commander Banlist Update EVER

We may have just gotten the biggest commander banlist update we've ever seen. Mana Crypt, Jeweled Lotus, Dockside Extortionist, and Nadu, Winged Wisdom all caught the Commander Rules Committee ban hammer. Dockside and Nadu were somewhat expected. Mana Crypt and Jeweled Lotus on the other hand were a shock.

Many are now very upset with the massive loss in value of their collections, many decks in cEDH are now simply no longer viable without access to this form of fast mana, and nearly everyone is upset with the commitee's very poor communication and are asking for change in how they go about discussing bans.

Sadly we were wrong. Between 5 hour lines, products selling out within the first hour, lines pausing, scalpers galore, and no transparency; this will certainly go down as one of the worst run drops of all time for MTG. I just got back from GenCon 2025! I go over what its like to play in a Regional Championship Qualifier event, partake in a Gavin Verhey Unkown event, and gush to @TypicalGeminiMTG about all the cool cards and cooler people I met!

We also talk about how suffocating it is to be a Magic fan right now. We hadn't even gotten to the Edge of Eternities release weekend and we are already being bombarded with Spiderman cards, the Soul Stone, and even Avatar the Last Airbender promos! Just let me enjoy my space set!
