advisor a new strategy and expecting them to figure it out themselves, Tandem Selling brings experienced specialists alongside the advisor to help identify opportunities, prepare for client conversations, and develop the case together.

The conversation explores:

• Why many advisors already have significant opportunities sitting inside their existing relationships
• Why the advisor’s greatest asset may be the trust they have already built with clients
• How advisors can “borrow authority” by bringing specialists into advanced conversations
• Why clients do not expect their advisor to know everything
• How to recognize opportunities without turning every conversation into a product pitch
• Why advisors should focus on diagnosing opportunity in an advisor’s business was not another lead campaign, another cold prospect, or another new product?

What if it was already sitting inside the relationships they have spent years building?

On this episode of the Finance Leaders Podcast, Daniel Hanzelka sits down with Brooke Devatenzi to explore the thinking behind the AMP Solution and how advisors can begin identifying larger planning opportunities inside their existing book of business.

The conversation goes beyond simply explaining the strategy.

It explores a much bigger question:

How can advisors learn to recognize opportunities they may already have—but have never been trained to see?

Daniel and Brooke discuss:

• Why many advisors may already have significant opportunities inside their current client base
• What advisors should look for when reviewing older policies and existing relationships
• Why existing cash value may create an entirely new planning conversation
• How the AMP Solution differs from simply selling another life insurance policy
• Why strategy and structure can matter more than the product itself
• How advisors can work with advanced-case specialists without becoming the technical expert
• Why the strongest advisors often focus on relationships and opportunity identification rather than trying to know everything themselves
• How existing personal planning conversations can lead naturally into business-owner opportunities
• How the Corporate AMP Solution may fit into conversations around liquidity, employee retention, key people, and long-term business planning
• Why better client conversations can often create referrals and additional opportunities without constantly chasing new leads

One of the central ideas from the episode is simple:

**Advisors may not need more opportunity. They may need a better way to recognize the opportunity they already have.**

A client may already own a permanent policy.

They may already have accumulated cash value.

They may have additional assets sitting elsewhere.

They may own a successful business.

Or they may simply have needs and objectives that were never uncovered because the original conversation stopped at the product.

That is where the advisor’s role begins to change.

Rather than trying to become the expert in every advanced strategy, the advisor can become exceptional at understanding the client, asking better questions, identifying where an opportunity may exist, and then bringing the right expertise into the relationship.

That is also the philosophy behind what Ascendrium Partners is building.

The advisor owns the relationship.

The specialist helps develop and execute the opportunity.

And together, they can potentially create a much broader planning conversation than either could create alone.

For independent financial and insurance professionals looking to grow without constantly starting from zero, this episode offers a different way to think about the relationships and opportunities already sitting inside their business.

Subscribe to the Finance Leaders After attending Valencia College, he worked for Walt Disney World as an audio/lighting/pyro tech, where he met his wife of over thirty years. He left Disney to get into the radio business in 1996 and—except for a few years running his own web design company and a couple years managing a drug store—has been involved in radio ever since.

He moved his family to the beautiful Appalachian foothills of Johnson City, Tennessee, in 2007, where he hosts a weekly on-air radio show and podcast, The Safe Money Retirement Show, as well as Safe Money Retirement webinars—teaching retirees in multiple radio markets and all across America the basics they need to know in order to make informed choices about their retirement.

Tim has been a trusted consultant for a great number of local business owners and high-net-worth individuals for well over two decades. He entered the retirement education field in 2017, after seeing a dire need for honest, independent, and easy-to-understand answers to the issues facing the Greatest Generation, the baby boomers, and every other generation hoping for a safe and prosperous retirement. As a consultant, business owner, and Certified Financial Fiduciary®, Tim has a passion for helping retirees or those planning for their retirement make smart choices regarding their retirement options, helping them ensure that their hard-earned retirement nest eggs remain safe from any market downturns, while providing them a guaranteed income they can never outlive. He is an invited author for ThinkAdvisor—a tool for those in the retirement industry—using his years of experience to help others with best practices and tips.

Tim teaches classes on Safe Money Retirement at local colleges, and he takes his role as an educator seriously, firm in his belief that proper knowledge is the key to making smart choices. His primary focus is helping to educate those at or near retirement about their options for wealth preservation and income planning, and creating an overall financial plan that will help ensure his clients a stress-free retirement. His belief in complete transparency and honesty led him to his career as a Certified Financial Fiduciary® and continues to light his path in his daily interactions with clients.

Tim is also a member of Ed Slott’s Master Elite IRA Advisor GroupSM, the nation’s leading source of accurate, timely IRA expertise and analysis to financial advisors, institutions, consumers, and media across the country. Understanding all the nuances involved with how every type of retirement plan works—and especially how they work with the ever-changing tax codes—is absolutely vital to ensuring that the plans he helps his clients develop are the best they can be. He is immediately notified of changes to the tax code and updates on retirement planning, so you can be sure your retirement dollars are safe from unnecessary taxes and fees. Additionally, membership gives him access to Ed Slott’s elite team of “America’s IRA Experts” to answer any tough tax or planning questions.

Tim and his wife, Melissa, have one daughter, who is currently attending college. In their free time, the couple enjoys traveling to sporting events and concerts. Tim also enjoys giving back to his community as much as possible.
