But should Christians ever speak about someone going there with joy or satisfaction?

In this episode of Eternal Words, we reflect on a difficult but important truth: hell is real, judgment is real, but God takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked. His desire is that people turn to Him and live.

As Christians, we cannot remove hell from the message simply because it is uncomfortable or unpopular. Jesus Himself warned about judgment. But the way we speak about hell matters.

Hell should never become an insult, a threat we enjoy making, or something we speak about with pride and self-righteousness. If God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, neither should we.

We are not people standing above others announcing their destruction. We are people who have received mercy, pointing others towards the same mercy we found in Jesus Christ.

So yes, we need to talk about hell. But we should talk about it soberly, compassionately and with the heart of Christ.

Because the Christian message is not simply, “Hell is real.”

It is also: “Jesus saves.”

There is judgment, but there is also mercy. There is a warning, but there is also a way of salvation. And that way is Jesus Christ.

May we never become comfortable with the thought of anyone being lost. May we speak the truth in love, pray for those who do not know Christ, examine our own lives, and continually point people towards Jesus.

The Lord will help us in Jesus’ name. And may none of us end up in hell, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scriptures reflected on: Ezekiel 33:11, Matthew 9:36, Matthew 10:28, Matthew 25:46, John 3:16–17, John 5:24, John 14:6, Romans 5:8, Romans 9:2, Ephesians 2, 2 Peter 3:9, Acts 4:12.

#HellIsReal #JesusSaves #JesusChrist #Christianity #ChristianPodcast #ChristianMessage #BibleTeaching #BibleStudy #Gospel #Salvation #EternalLife #Judgment #Repentance #GraceOfGod #MercyOfGod #FaithInJesus #ChristianLiving #WordOfGod #EternalWords

Sileola Akinola

<podcast:transcript url="https://hosting-media.riverside.com/media/podcasts/4fee6488-1474-47d8-97a5-8bf87f09c6c2/episodes/e33822ff-5a40-49b9-8a14-7142043c407f/transcripts.txt" type="text/plain"/><itunes:summary>
Hell is real.

The Bible does not present God’s love as a vague feeling—but as a love revealed through Jesus Christ and demonstrated at the cross.

In this episode, we reflect on the love of God as the Bible reveals it: a love that moved towards us, gave us Jesus Christ and was demonstrated at the cross while we were still sinners.

This is not a vague idea of love that ignores truth or treats sin as unimportant. God’s love tells us the truth about ourselves while providing the forgiveness and new life we could never earn for ourselves.

If you are a Christian, this conversation explores what God’s love means when you fail, when life becomes painful and when you struggle to believe that God is still near. It also considers how receiving His love should change the way we treat other people, including those we find difficult.

If you are not yet a Christian, this episode explains why you do not have to repair yourself before coming to God. The invitation of the gospel is to turn to Jesus, trust what He has done and receive the life God offers through His Son.

The main Bible passages include 1 John 4, Romans 5:8, Romans 8:38–39 and John 3:16–17.

If this conversation helps you, share it with someone who needs to hear that God’s love is not something we earn. He loved us first

Sileola Akinola

<podcast:transcript url="https://hosting-media.riverside.com/media/podcasts/4fee6488-1474-47d8-97a5-8bf87f09c6c2/episodes/750dd565-b004-40da-950d-96b377c6c0a8/transcripts.txt" type="text/plain"/><itunes:summary>

Have you ever wondered what it truly means that God loves you?

</itunes:summary><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>00:18:37</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://hosting-media.riverside.com/media/podcasts/4fee6488-1474-47d8-97a5-8bf87f09c6c2/logos/d9e4ce56-4dfa-4201-976b-31a73ec28484.jpeg"/><itunes:episode>10</itunes:episode><itunes:title>The Love of GOD</itunes:title><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType>

God...
