I’m not sharing this as an improv expert. I’m documenting what I’m learning while I’m still learning it—because another actor might be experiencing the same doubts, excitement, or growing pains.

I recently had the opportunity to model for Nike, and the experience reminded me that booking the job is only one part of being a professional actor or model.

In this episode of Actor’s Notes, I’m sharing what the experience taught me about proper set etiquette, arriving prepared, listening carefully, adapting when things change, respecting every person on the production, and becoming someone people genuinely enjoy working with.

I cannot discuss the products, production details, or exactly what I worked on, but I can talk about the professional lessons I took away from the experience.Talent may help you enter the room, but your attitude, preparation, communication, and ability to work with others can determine whether people want to bring you back.

This is all based on my personal experience and creative journey. I’m still learning with every class, audition, booking, and opportunity, but hopefully these notes help another actor or model feel more prepared before stepping onto a professional set.
